Understanding permissions

A key feature of VerifiMe is that you control who can access your verified identity. Permissions allow service providers to:

  • View your basic identity information (name, address, contact details)

  • See your verification status

  • Conduct risk assessments as required for compliance

  • Access information needed to provide their services to you

What permissions do NOT allow

Even with your permission, service providers can never see:

  • Your passport number

  • Your driver license number

  • Your Medicare card number

  • Photos of your identity documents

  • Your biometric data or facial recognition information

Automatic permission grant

When you complete your VerifiMe Wallet setup after being invited by a service provider:

Implicit permission is automatically granted to that service provider:

  • This is called an "implicit grant"

  • It happens automatically at the end of your onboarding

  • You initiated the process by accepting their invitation, indicating you want to work with them

  • This permission allows them to complete their verification and compliance requirements

Why automatic permission makes sense:

  • You responded to their invitation specifically to work with them

  • They need access to complete your application or service setup

  • It saves you an extra step of manually granting permission

  • You can still revoke this permission later if needed

Managing permissions

After setup, you can control permissions through your VerifiMe Wallet:

Granting additional permissions:

  • If you want to work with a new service provider, you can grant them permission

  • Navigate to the permissions section in your wallet

  • Select the service provider from available organizations

  • Confirm the permission grant

Revoking permissions:

  • You can remove a service provider's access at any time

  • Go to your active permissions list

  • Select the service provider you want to revoke

  • Confirm the revocation

  • They will immediately lose access to your information (historical data is retained for compliance purposes)

Viewing your permissions:

  • See all active permissions and when they were granted

  • View which service providers currently have access

  • Check permission history and revocations
