What Does Permissioning Mean?
Permissioning allows you to share your pre-verified identity information with a business or service provider without having to re-submit your documents. Once you grant permission, the organisation can access:
Your verified identity information (derived from documents like driver's licence, passport)
Your personal details that have been verified
Your verification status and history
Any other information you've consented to share
Benefits of Permissioning
Faster onboarding: No need to upload documents again
Reduced repetition: Share information you've already verified once
Greater control: You decide which organisations can access your information
Secure sharing: Your information is shared through a secure platform
Two Ways to Grant Permission
There are two methods to grant an organisation access to your information:
Method 1: Responding to a Permission Request
Use this when an organisation sends you a permission request
Method 2: Creating a New Permission
Use this when you want to proactively grant access to an organisation
Method 1: Responding to a Permission Request
This method is typically used when you're a new customer who hasn't yet verified their wallet. The organisation will send you a permission request as part of your initial onboarding.
Step 1: Receive a Permission Request
You'll receive a permission request from the organisation via email or through the VerifiMe platform. This request will include the organisation's name and details, along with a link to access VerifiMe.
Step 2: Access VerifiMe
Click the link in the permission request. This will take you to:
If you already have an account: The login page where you can sign in to your existing VerifiMe wallet
If you're new to VerifiMe: The setup page where you can create your ID wallet
Step 3: Review the Request
Once you've logged in or completed your wallet setup, you'll be able to review the permission request. Before granting permission, carefully review:
Organisation details: Ensure you recognize the business and intended to share information with them
Step 4: Grant or Deny Permission
New permission requests: When you log in, any new permission requests will automatically pop up on your screen for immediate review.
Pending requests: All pending permission requests can be found in the Permissions tab on the left-hand side of the screen.
To respond to a pending request:
Click on the Permissions tab on the left-hand side of the screen to review the pending request details
Click "Grant Now" to approve the permission
To deny the request, click the dropdown menu above the "Grant Now" button and select "Dismiss"
